Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) cell started functioning in the college from 5th of April 2011 after official inauguration by the Principal Dr. R Sathikumar. It works as a node of Patent Information Centre Kerala. Major objectives of the cell:
- To Create Awareness among the people on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
- To Increase the Intellectual Property output of the State.
- To Provide technical and legal assistance for filing a Patent
- To clear the queries related to IPR.
As a part of its awareness generation program the IPR cell conducted a seminar on ‘Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Education’ on 24th of August 2011 at GEC Idukki. Speakers from Patent office Chennai gave lectures on topics ‘Intellectual Property Rights : An Overview’ and ‘Technicalities of filing a Patent’. The program was attended by 120 students.
